A poll of sorts: How long have you been a "fader" for?
by SecretSlaveClass ini'm curious about the following:.
1) how long have you been a fader for?.
2) how often do you still get pressure from congregation members and/or family to return as an active witness?.

In NZ congregation secretaries have been asked to compile contact information for those inactive persons to be followed up on by (?). Not sure what the official request says or whether this is purely local needs because of the CO visit next week or branch / org wide. My source speculates that it is to address recent mass faders in the local congregation. Be interesting to see how far back they reach for faders. -

WE NEED MORE MONEY! (Letter sent to Mexico re: JW Broadcasting of May 2015).
by avaddohn94 ini don't know if they're making similar arrangements in other parts of the world but below you will find the letter (and the translation attempt) they're sending to all the congregations in mexico and central america asking them to modify their september 21 and september 28 service meeting programs.. after watching jackson's gold apple watch and lett's pinky ring one can only assume they are a bunch of brazen, shameless and greedy bastards!.
the letter has already been uploaded at the spanish forum and you can find it if you click here or see the attached picture.. the translation "attempt" is as follows:.
august 1, 2015. to all congregations.

I ponder two things:
1. Were the Mexican brothers a large proportion of those who responded to the last request for funds?
2. Is a one off branch letter intended to discredit 'apostate lies' if it backfires?

We have a saying here in NZ Mr Flipper, it is "as scarce as bat shit". Think I might be able to get a ready supply of chicken manure though. Also was going to try mushroom compost this year.
A lawnch. That is exactly what I am after. Seems little point having a cartwheel and handstand lawn when your kids are past that. So lunch it is. Will be pruning the cherry tree a smidgen and opening up the sun. Plan to grow pear and apple against fence. Have a thornless blackberry, boisenberry and a two raspberries that did pretty poorly last year...
I also have a pretty narrow strip down the side of the house where berries passionfruit and compost are. Also propogating a few grasses, lavendar and the like. Want to go crazy out front tho...
Loving all the creative suggestions guys!!! Keep them coming!!

Wow that's awesome! Hey, I learned a neat trick about tomatoes - to snap off all but the top 1/4 of the plant before you plant it out and then place it in a trench horizontally with just the top turned up 90°. Apparently they grow 5ft and fruit prolifically because the snapped off leaves root up and the plant increases hydration to sustain itself. Well at least that's the theory so I shall give it a try and report back. -

I am rhubarb mad possum, exactly for stewing and pie. Planted an apple to go with it although that will be some years away...
Ruby - LOL! Naughty little foxes!!! Bees are exactly what I am after too. Have pea petit and pea progress seedlings on the grow and love sweet peas.
Xanthippe - I shall try nicotiana (new to me!) and French climbing beans you say? I have grown scarlet runners and dwarf green / butter beans... but will seek out some French!
Do you all realise at this rate, you will have a stake in my garden! 😄

I hear you. The prospect of living forever on earth gave no urgency to living life in the now. Leave it till the new system! You'll have plenty of time to study, learn music and do your own thing then! So you never needed to think about life goals and if you did, it was more of a fantasy.
For the now, my interests come last and my family's interests first. My down time now is reading and researching all of 'this' and I am becoming consumed by it.
I still don't think that I am living an honest and authentic life but will integrate more things in every now and then. Hence my garden goal this year :)
Guess what. I want grandkids to pick fruit from nanas garden. Didn't ever think about having grandkids coz surely that would be after a thousand years. Good god yes it is layers and layers of cultedness.

Cognitive Dissonance Runs Deep
by vinman inwhile it is true that maybe 1 or 2 things woke you up (like myself), it is interesting to reflect on the reality of what you did not believe, even if you were a true believer and would of died for the organization.
here is my list (not a complete list, i'm sure their is more).
what is your list like?.

Like Faye, it was death and resurrection with no hope of any normal happy life. Almost a hell on earth and what loving god would torment any living thing like that? That really stumbled me.
The shunning practice too. I had bad memories as a child of how others were treated and I remember being embarrassed by it.
Belief that only JWs were good people and were going to survive the big A.
